It was an extraordinary sight in 2014; the ernormous bridge deck for the Kruisvaart Bridge was transported by road to its final destination in Utrecht. Earlier, the composite deck, intended for a new bus route near the train station, had been transported by water from Rotterdam to Utrecht.

A composite deck was the best choice for this location; the deck must be removable occasionally to allow passage to a nearby yard.
